Can I be serious for a second?

I don’t care if a woman is wearing ten layers of clothing or a miniskirt and a tank-top… NO WOMAN WANTS TO BE RAPED. And no matter what she wears, there’s nothing she can wear that will imply she’s “asking for it”. No, asshole, no one is EVER asking to be raped. If someone chooses to wear revealing clothing, that’s just how they choose to express themselves. If you don’t agree with it, don’t dress like it, or don’t be with people who do. BUT HOW SOMEONE DRESSES IS THEIR BUSINESS AND THEIR DECISION, NOT YOURS.

What someone wears, how much they drink, where they wander off to in the middle of the night, etc. does not permit rape. The person being raped is not and should never be at fault for being raped. It is the rapist, and the rapist ONLY, who is at fault. What, this woman provoked the rape by dressing “like a slut”? Too fucking bad. Control your damn self.

If someone robs a jewelry store, and to defend themselves they said “…But the diamonds looked so shiny and expensive,” you know the judge would laugh in their face and lock them up.

In conclusion, stop blaming the person being raped for the rape. Stop saying they were “asking for it”. Because if you do, you’re basically supporting rape.

I’m probably gonna end up posting this on facebook, because honestly I don’t have much faith in a lot of the people I’m facebook friends with.
